Research overview

HGH Fragment 176-191 is a synthetic peptide that represents a specific segment of the full human growth hormone (HGH) molecule. It consists of the 16 amino acids located at the C-terminal end of the HGH chain, from positions 176 to 191.

The development of this fragment is based on the scientific hypothesis that the fat-regulating effects of HGH are primarily localized to this region of the hormone. The objective was to isolate the lipolytic (fat-burning) properties of HGH while excluding other systemic effects, such as the stimulation of Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), effects on growth, or significant alterations in insulin sensitivity.

Its proposed mechanism of action involves the direct stimulation of lipolysis (the breakdown of fat) and the inhibition of lipogenesis (the formation of new fat), specifically targeting adipose tissue. Unlike the full HGH molecule, it is not intended to influence cell proliferation or growth. It is an experimental peptide investigated for its potential effects on fat metabolism and is the parent compound from which more stabilized analogues, such as AOD9604, were derived.
